My Story

Copper cast alloy harness strap fitting. It was found under debris from the demolished rampart of the fortlet at Kinneil, near Bo'ness.

"I used to belong to a Roman cavalryman but somehow, over time, I have become a trinket belonging to one of the officers in charge of the infantry billeted at Kinneil. This is a cold and hospitable place. When the time came to abandon the wall I was discarded only to be found 1700 years later. You can now find me in Kinneil Museum."
